FESTIVAL OF LIFE – BATHUKAMMA
Bathukamma is a floral-festival celebrated every year by the people of Telangana State. Celebrated for nine days during the months September–October, Bathukamma means “festival of life” and is a celebration of staying alive and healthy.
In Telugu, ‘Bathukamma’ means ‘Mother Goddess come Alive’.
Thus, Bathukamma festival gives us the essence of Life and Health Insurances.
Bathukamma is a beautiful flower stack, arranged with different unique seasonal flowers having medicinal values, in seven concentric layers in the shape of temple gopuram.
While the festival represents the cultural spirit of Telangana, it is also the festival for feminine felicitation. On this special occasion women dress up in traditional saris and jewellery.
