Understanding Insurance in the Buddhist way
Buddha Purnima in 2022 shall be celebrated on the 16th of May to commemorate the birth of Lord Buddha. Prince Siddhartha Gautama was born in 623 B.C. at Lumbini, Nepal.
In medicine, the Buddha’s Four Noble Truths are the path toward healing, for in them lies the recognition of disease, its aetiology, prognosis, and the remedy. These four components are the very basis of any physician’s practice.
Similarly, if we applied Gautama the Buddha’s Four Noble Truths as a path toward insurance, it can be witnessed in the following manner:

| There is Suffering | There is Risk |
| There is a Cause of Suffering | There is a Cause for the Risk |
| The Suffering can be ended | The Risk can be transferred |
