MOTOR CLAIM PAYMENT – CYRUS MISTRY & OTHERS.
Shri. Cyrus Mistry died in a car accident on 4th September, 2022. His death is a great loss. May his soul rest in peace. Let us examine this accident from motor insurance perspective.
Facts: Cyrus Mistry (54) scion of the multi-billion-dollar Shapoorji Pallonji Group and former head of Tata Sons was travelling in Mercedes-Benz GLC (MH47AB6705) to Mumbai along with three others died. Dr Anahita Pandole, her husband Darius Pandole survived the crash; Jehangir Pandole, brother of Darius also died. Mistry was married to Rohiqa Chagla, has two sons, Firoz Mistry and Zahan Mistry.
Kindly remember the following:
- The car tried to overtake another vehicle from the wrong side while negotiating potholes.
- High Security Registration Plate (HSRP) is a mandatory for vehicles sold before 1st April 2019. Mercedes-Benz GLC 220d 4MATIC does not have a HSRP plate.
