The Vintage and Classic Car Club of India was founded by Mr. Pranlal Bhogilal with the objective of preserving this rich heritage of cars in our country.

One of their members is Dr. Vijay Mallya! We don’t have to talk about him. You likely know too much about this gentleman!

To qualify as a vintage vehicle, the 2-wheeler or 4-wheeler must be over 50 years of age and must be well-maintained in its original condition. No internal or external overhauls/modifications to the vehicle are permitted.

Under Vehicle Scrappage Policy 2021, a concession of 25% on road tax is offered by the Government on the scrappage of old vehicles.

Vehicle manufacturers are providing a 5% discount on new vehicle purchases. Under these circumstances the question ‘Whether the car is certified as vintage car by Vintage and Classic Car club of India?’ is no longer relevant in a standard motor insurance proposal which is meant for the common man who drives regular cars and worries about every Rupee.

Are we not asking this question in Motor Insurance proposal for the sake of asking it?
